  • Alfaisal University signed an MOU with Saudi Awwal Bank (SAB), The purpose of this MOU is to create and design a training program to be delivered to the bank employees. Know More.
  • An annual exhibition showcasing educational booths and lectures highlighting the impact of pertinent community medicine topics. 10th HPP was on primary health care across the life span with topics like sustainability, mental health, climate change, social determinants of health, primary healthcare in Saudi Arabia in line with the nation's Vision 2030.   • CIPC (Center for Innovation, Partnership, and Community Engagement) was established to bridge the gap between the rapidly evolving trends in the healthcare system, academia, and community needs. Saudi Arabia proved to be among the rapidly growing countries in multidimensional spheres including economy, technology, and healthcare. CIPC aims to harness from this booming environment to yield effective collaborations for the university itself and research opportunities for its students whilst centralizing education and community engagement. Under CIPC is the Clinical Support Subcommittee which is a domain purely to facilitate and enhance the clinical research capabilities of Alfaisal University by fostering collaborations between the College of Medicine at Alfaisal and affiliated hospitals.   • The Digital Health Conference (DHCon) is a global conference that brings key leaders, scientists, health care professionals, and stakeholders in digital health to one place where they explore, showcase, and network for Healthcare Artificial Intelligence innovation and advancement. The conference is powered by the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSH&RC), the leading hospital in the MENA region for healthcare delivery and research.   • Alfaisal Mini Med School Series (AMMSS) is a student-led, faculty-supervised, initiative that aims to enhance the students’ community engagement by raising the public awareness towards important and trendy healthcare related topics. With the supervision of Dr. Baraa Alghalyini, chair of Family and Community Medicine Department and course director of Family Medicine courses, year 3 students work collaboratively to organize a one-hour session with a topic-expert guest speaker targeting the general public to raise awareness on critical and hot topics such as, chronic pain management, Sleep Medicine, Mental Health, care of the elderly, and preconception counseling.   • The Guest lecture series, is one example that provides an important educational experience based on their real-world life experiences. Here you will get to see the insight and perspective of the guest lecturers’ specific field. Our format allows interact with professionals in formal and informal settings. Through discussions, interpersonal competence and communicative skills are fostered. Guests’ contributions can take the format of a single lecture, a lecture series over a specific period or workshops.
    This then leads to the link that students get to make between what they learn in their curriculum, and the experiences shared by the guest speaker. Students thereby build important connections between what they have learned and the real world.
    All our guest lecturers act as role models and bring an authentic, vivid picture of the real world to students, thereby enabling transdisciplinary learning. Experiences and perspectives from the speakers national & international backgrounds inspire students in their own (entrepreneurial) projects, creating motivation and an action-orientation.   • Curriculum innovation driven by industry inputs has always been part of our university curriculum development. From our inception relationships with Stevens Institute of Technology, Partners Harvard Medical International, Boeing, Harvard Business School, played a role in crafting our college curriculums and majors due to market demand. In curriculum driven by industry inputs, internship or coop opportunity is the common theme. Our industry partners provide opportunity for participating students creating a win-win situation for all parties involved, the industry, the students and the university. Our commitment to collaboration makes for meaningful university-industry partnership. Whilst bridging knowledge and skills gaps to the benefit of would-be graduates, it has maintained our industry partner access to a talent source that will ensure their own future competitiveness – setting the stage for even greater success.   • Annually Alfaisal University hosts the Career Fair; an enriching experience where local & international companies showcase their services, recruit highly qualified graduates, offer internship and coop opportunities. This annual event is for Alfaisal alumni, students and is also open to the public as part of Alfaisal University’s CSR. Know More.
  • The Alumni & Placement Relations Department hosts periodic Alumni talks where alumni from diverse fields came to Alfaisal campus to share their expertise and experience with the current batch of aspiring students pursuing similar paths. During these talks, our alumni provided the students with valuable insights into the professional world, offering career advice, as well as shedding light on the evolving job markets and essential skills for a successful future.   3. Under the leadership of Prince Sultan bin Salman, the Supreme Supervisory Committee reviews the final preparations for the 6th International Conference on Disability and Rehabilitation, organized by King Salman Center for Disability Research at Alfaisal University. Know More.
  4. The association honored the Dean of the College of Medicine at Alfaisal University on the sidelines of the 10th Health Promotion Exhibition for the scientific support provided by the college to the association. The event was attended by Her Highness Dr. Maha bint Mishari Al Saud, Deputy Director of the University, the University Director, and the Chair of the Family and Community Medicine Department.   5. The fourth annual forum for the families of people with disabilities, with the session titled 'Comprehensive Quality Education for All... An Ambitious National Vision,' discussed the integration between educational institutions and civil society organizations that support individuals with disabilities.Know More.
  6. Shell-Eco Marathon from Alfaisal University designed and manufactured a fuel-efficient car, which aimed to inspire the youth of Saudi Arabia. Know More.

  9. Besrour Centre for Global Family Medicine community is a hub of international collaboration dedicated to advancing family medicine globally. Dr. Baraa AlGhalyini is an assistant professor & Chair of the Family & Community Medicine Department as well as the Vice Dean of the College of Medicine at Alfaisal Univeriity. She is also a long-standing partner, a member of the Besrour Centre’s Advisory Council, and a co-lead on the FM Pivot Module. In 2016 she became the first University of Toronto alumni representative in Riyadh and is the first appointed Saudi adjunct faculty at the Department of Family and Community Medicine in Toronto (2006 to the present) where she continues to participate actively in the academic fellowship and Global Health Programs. Dr.AlGhalyini has been awarded Fellowship in the College of Family Physicians of Canada (FCFP) and has contributed immensely to the field of family medicine teaching, continuous professional development, and research.   10. Let's Talk Community WORKshoPotluck was a workshop held at Alfaisal University under the CIPC. The workshop aimed to provide an opportunity for the participants to engage in community-building activities, exchange ideas, and collaborate to develop new community engagement projects. The event was aimed at promoting community engagement among the university's faculty and staff, and it achieved its objective. The workshop included brainstorming sessions where participants were grouped into five different tables to come up with innovative community engagement projects. In this report, we will highlight the key outcomes of the workshop, provide recommendations for project, process, and policy improvements that can be implemented at Alfaisal University. Know More.
  11. The Saudi Food and Drug Association studies and provides scientific opinion and recommendations for the health and educational field, renew Nutrition Policies and create a food database. Alfaisal University holds a collaboration with them and aims to increase student research opportunities through this.
