The 2013–2018 Strategic Plan marked a pivotal stage in Alfaisal University’s early institutional development. Building upon the foundation of the initial Deloitte Plan (2008), this five-year roadmap set out to guide the university’s transition from a newly established institution to a competitive, research-oriented university aligned with national needs and global standards.

The plan redefined Alfaisal’s academic direction by placing a stronger emphasis on Medicine and Health Sciences, responding to national demand and enrollment trends. It outlined six long-term goals across four strategic themes—Student-Centered Learning, Academic Excellence, Research, and Community Engagement supported by 11 strategic objectives, 29 targeted actions, and 43 key performance indicators (KPIs).

Key priorities included expanding enrollment, strengthening graduate programs, achieving national and international accreditation, enhancing faculty research productivity, and building strategic partnerships. A detailed implementation timeline and projections for students, faculty, administration, and finances ensured a data-driven approach to institutional growth.

This strategic plan played a critical role in shaping Alfaisal University’s identity as a student-centered, research-driven, and community-engaged institution, advancing its mission to support a knowledge-based economy and contribute to Saudi Arabia’s national development.
