Our Sustainability Approach

Education This pillar covers all activities that integrate sustainability into teaching, learning, curriculum development, and professional training for both the Alfaisal community of faculty and students, as well as the wider local community. It includes workshops, talks, open educational resources, and awareness and literacy programs designed to foster a deep understanding of sustainability challenges and solutions.

Operations This pillar covers all activities that promote sustainable leadership, ethical governance, and responsible financial practices. It emphasizes the efficient management of resources such as water, energy, and waste, and extends to advancing climate action, sustainable transportation, and environmentally responsible construction practices.

Health and Well-being This pillar covers all activities that emphasize creating a safe, healthy, and supportive environment that nurtures both the physical and mental well-being of the campus community, ensuring holistic care and productivity.

Research and Innovation This pillar covers all activities that support interdisciplinary research, projects, and innovations that address sustainability challenges at both local and global levels.

Engagement This pillar covers all activities that promote diversity, equality, and inclusive access, while fostering active participation, collaborations, community outreach, partnerships, and sustainability awareness within and beyond the university.
