"Mobile-IRS assisted next generation UAV communication networks Authors: Hazim Shakhatreh, Ahmad Sawalmeh, Ali H. Alenezi, Sharief Abdel-Razeq, Ala Al-Fuqaha Publisher: Elsevier Computer Communications Abstract: Unlike previous studies, this study assumes a single UAV and an IRS mounted on a mobile ground vehicle (M-IRS) to be deployed in an Internet-of-Things (IoT) 6G wireless network to maximize the average data rate. Such a methodology for providing wireless coverage using an M-IRS assisted UAV system is expected in smart cities. In this paper, we formulate an optimization problem to find an efficient trajectory for the UAV, an efficient path for the M-IRS, and users’ power allocation."

"Fractional-order Modified Windkessel Model of the Human Arterial Vascular System Publisher: IEEE Biomedical Circuits and Systems Conference (BioCAS) Authors: Mohamed A. Bahloul; Yasser Aboelkassem; Zehor Belkhatir; Taous-Meriem Laleg Abstract: This paper explores fractional-order derivatives to model the apparent arterial compliance dynamics in human vascular aging subjects. The proposed model employs fractional-order capacitor (FOC) elements that combine complex and frequency-dependence characteristics of proximal and distal arterial compliances. The FOC modeling approach accounted for both resistive and capacitive properties. The mathematical derivation has been combined into a global arterial lumped parameter representation forming a novel fractional-order modified arterial Windkessel representation. The model is then validated using aortic pressure and flow rate data acquired from human subjects at different ages. The results show that the FOC model is an accurate and flexible app

"Occupational Safety and Health for Adult Saudi Arabian Women: Utilizing National Anthropometric Data by Abdalla Alrashdan Published: Healthcare 2024 Abstract: This study presents the anthropometric measurements of Saudi Arabian adult females. In total, 504 female subjects aged 20–70 participated in the study. Thirty-eight body measurements, including weight and triceps skinfold, were taken in sitting and standing postures. The main contribution of this study is to provide a national anthropometric database of Saudi females, which is very limited, especially for females in the age groups under study. The availability of such data will allow foreign and local manufacturers to design usable and safe products and workspaces for a wide range of Saudi adult females. "

"Performance Enhancement of the Basic Solar Chimney Power Plant Integrated with an Adsorption Cooling System with Heat Recovery from the Condenser by Hassan Zohair Hassan Publisher: Energies 2024 Abstract: In the present paper, a subsequent modification to the arrangement and operation of the preceding system is introduced. The primary objective of the modification is to enhance performance and increase the plant’s capacity to effectively harness the available solar radiation. The method involves placing the condenser tubes at the solar collector entrance. Therefore, the airflow captures the condenser-released heat before it enters the collector. The modified configuration and operation of the system are discussed. A dynamic mathematical model is established to simulate the hybrid system’s operation and evaluate its parameters. The obtained results show that a 5.95% increase in output power can be achieved by recovering the heat of condensation. Furthermore, the modified system attains

"Modeling dislocation interactions with grain boundaries in lath martensitic steels Authors: Ossama Abou Ali Modad & Mutasem A. Shehadeh Publisher: Journal of Materials Science Abstract: Martensitic steels are widely used as a structural material in critical components of fossil fuel and nuclear power plants, such as boilers, pipes, and fittings. Martensitic steels are known to have a hierarchical microstructure that follows the Kurdjumov–Sachs (K–S) orientation relationship, where a prior austenite grain is composed of packets separated by high angle grain boundaries or packet boundaries, which are, in turn, divided into blocks or variants segregated by high angle grain boundaries called block boundaries. "Moreau Envelopes-Based Personalized Asynchronous Federated Learning: Improving Practicality in Network Edge Intelligence Publisher: IEEE GLOBECOM 2023 - 2023 IEEE Global Communications Conference Authors: Anwar Asad; Mostafa M. Fouda; Zubair Md Fadlullah; Mohamed I. Ibrahem; Nidal Nasser Abstract: Federated learning is a promising approach for training models on distributed data, driven by increasing demand in various industries. However, federated learning framework faces several key challenges, including communication bottlenecks and client data heterogeneity. Personalized asynchronous federated learning addresses these challenges by customizing the model for individual users based on their local data while trading model updates asynchronously. In this paper, we propose the Personal-ized Moreau Envelopes-based Asynchronous Federated Learning (APFedMe). Our approach combines the strengths of Moreau Envelopes to handle optimization problems and asynchronous weight updates to improve c

"Joint Knowledge Distillation and Local Differential Privacy for Communication-Efficient Federated Learning in Heterogeneous Systems Publisher: IEEE GLOBECOM 2023 - 2023 IEEE Global Communications Conference Authors: Gad Gad; Zubair Md Fadlullah; Mostafa M. Fouda; Mohamed I. Ibrahem; Nidal Nasser Abstract: To protect against privacy attacks, FL algorithms employ Differential Privacy (DP) to guarantee privacy protection, which can be applied using Local Differential Privacy (LDP). In this paper, we elaborate on preserving clients' training data privacy in KD (Knowledge Distillation)-based FL using DP, providing both privacy and flexibility. We provide theoretical analysis to extend the privacy guarantee to exchanged updates. Experimental analysis is performed utilizing Human Activity Recognition (HAR) datasets with different modalities. The results obtained demonstrate the capacity of KD-based FL to maintain a robust utility-privacy balance. Furthermore, for the same DP protection level

"Zero-Trust Empowered Decentralized Security Defense against Poisoning Attacks in SL-IoT: Joint Distance-Accuracy Detection Approach Publisher: IEEE GLOBECOM 2023 - 2023 IEEE Global Communications Conference Authors: Rongxuan Song; Jun Wu; Qianqian Pan; Muhammad Imran; Niddal Naser; Rebet Jones Abstract: Swarm learning (SL) exploits the blockchain to realize a federated and decentralized learning, which is very suitable for internet of things (IoT). Different from FL using central server to update global parameter, SL using edge node (header) to do that. However, poisoning attack is also an unresolved problem to SL. Because if header is malicious, it can pollute global parameter more easily than edge nodes. Moreover, there are following important limitations in existing defense schemes for FL, which cannot be used in SL directly. "
